Hyundai IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, IONIQ 7
The Hyundai IONIQ is a compact sedan from the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai, available exclusively with electrified powertrains. The all-electric version had a battery capacity of 28 kWh until August 2019, since September 2019 it has been 38.3 kWh. The hybrid version initially came without a plug-in function and with a 1.56 kWh battery, but from mid-2017 it was also offered as a plug-in hybrid with an 8.9 kWh battery. With a drag coefficient (cd) of 0.24, the Ioniq is among the most aerodynamically efficient vehicles in its class. The electric version features a smooth front without a radiator grille.
In 2020, Hyundai announced that they would use the name "IONIQ" for a new sub-brand encompassing all-electric vehicles. Planned models include the Ioniq 5 (formerly Hyundai 45), Ioniq 6 (based on the Hyundai Prophecy concept), and Ioniq 7, with odd numbers representing SUVs and even numbers representing sedans. In June 2022, Hyundai announced the end of production of all IONIQ variants for the following month, with no direct successor.
