The term air freight encompasses all goods transported by air with an air waybill (“air shipment”). About half of the world’s air freight is transported in the lower decks of passenger planes, the other half by cargo planes. Air freight is processed (loading, reloading, and unloading) at almost every airport. Military air freight has been and is being transported in so-called transport aircraft.
