Wuppertaler: On-Demand Service extended

The supervisory board of Wupperalter Stadtwerke (WSW) has approved an extension and expansion of the on-demand project with the cryptic marketing name "Hol Mich! App". The six electrically powered seven-seaters of the type LEVC TX with a three-cylinder petrol engine as a range extender will thus run until the end of 2024 and additionally also operate in a large part of the Barmen district. This was announced by the city works on December 7, 2021.

Initially, the project was only approved for an extension until March 31, 2022. According to the WSW, so far, around 17,000 registered customers have booked over 35,000 rides. They rated the rides with an average of 4.7 out of 5 possible points. The app was tailored to Wuppertal. It includes 4,000 virtual stops for boarding and alighting. The project is part of the "digital model region Bergisches Städtedreieck". The project sponsors aim to use the experiences gained in Wuppertal to transfer digital mobility solutions to other municipalities as well.
