WSW: "Pick me up! App" now also in Barmen

Since its launch in 2020, the approximately 19,000 registered customers of the on-demand service "Hol mich! App" have covered over 300,000 km. The service has been well received by customers. Users have given it an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 points.

Six LEVC TX shuttles, a variant of the electric TX that is also sold as a taxi, are used as WSW-Cabs. The Bosch electric drive with (Volvo) three-cylinder range extender offers a purely electric range of 101 km, with an overall range of up to 510 km possible.

The fleet is now being expanded with two more vehicles, as from April 1, the western part of Barmen will also be part of the service area. This will then cover about 60 square kilometers and will have 2,000 new virtual stops.

"We have received many inquiries as to why the 'WSW-Cabs' are not available in Barmen. Therefore, I am particularly pleased that Barmen is now partly included," said WSW Managing Director Ulrich Jaeger.

Booking and payment continue to be done through the app. Also new is that in the future, children aged six to 14 can use the "Hol mich! App" on their own smartphone – a third-party PayPal account can now be added as a payment method, provided with parental consent.

Background Information

The "Hol mich! App" was developed exclusively for Wuppertal. After a customer places an order, the most optimal route with the appropriate stops is automatically calculated based on passenger volume, desired destinations, and available vehicles.

To determine the entry and exit points, 6,000 virtual stops are now available after the expansion. Subscription ticket customers receive discounted prices. The app can be downloaded for free from well-known stores. More information here »
