At the South by Southwest (SXSW) fair in Austin, Texas, Valeo will introduce a novel XR gaming experience (Extended Reality), which passengers can experience live via a phone or tablet connected to the vehicle's Wi-Fi. Thanks to Valeo software, the game uses the car's driver assistance systems (ADAS) – including cameras, radar, and ultrasonic sensors – as well as perception and AI algorithms already on board, to integrate the real environment of the vehicle into the game. This was not possible before. The game is a demonstration of how Valeo's augmented reality software development kit could bring about a new form of in-car entertainment.

Valeo's Solutions for Connected Mobility

Valeo will also present its latest technologies for safer, more sustainable, and better-connected mobility:

  • Cyclee will be showcased on a Fuell bicycle. The adaptive mid-drive, based on 48V technology, understands what the rider wants and supports rides even under the most challenging conditions with its automatic seven-speed gearbox and a transmission torque of 130 Nm. Thanks to improved noise reduction of about seven decibels, the sound of the complete electric drive solution Valeo Cyclee is now quieter than before.
  • With Panorama XR, drivers can share their rides with family and friends by showing them a 360° view of the driving environment on their smartphone screen – as if filmed by a drone. During SXSW, visitors will be able to enjoy picturesque real-time views of San Francisco Bay.
  • Ineez Air Charging offers an efficient and lightweight solution for inductive charging of a vehicle – entirely without charging cables. The wireless solution uses an extremely low operating frequency of about 3 kHz, providing a lightweight, simple, and safe charging experience and is compatible with all wallboxes currently available on the market. It also supports the charging of autonomous vehicles that can drive themselves into an inductive charging area.
  • Scala 3 LiDAR third generation from Valeo aims to meet the highest quality and safety standards in the automotive industry.

Additionally, Valeo's electric golf carts help SXSW organizers and the Valeo team move around Austin.
