With a 900 kWh battery: Futuricum electric car transporter rolls out for Galliker
The transport service provider Galliker Transport, the body manufacturer Kässbohrer, and Futuricum, the E-truck brand of the Designwerk Group, have jointly developed and built the first electric car transporter. The E-car transporter based on the Volvo FM is used by Galliker Transport for the delivery of new vehicles. The project was first presented to the professional community in the fall of 2021. Just a few months later, the innovative vehicle has already left Kässbohrer's factory halls in Salzburg and is now being registered for practical use – with a higher permissible total weight and an extended motor truck.
With the completion of the electric car transporter, we are setting a prominent example together with our partners. From today, electrically powered passenger cars can be delivered to dealers emission-free. (Tobias Wülser, Founder of the Designwerk Group)
Routes of around 450 km
The vehicle will travel daily routes of around 450 km on Swiss roads. The car transporter has a total output of 500 kW and four modular battery packs each with 225 kWh, with a total capacity of 900 kWh. In addition to the drive, the operation of the Kässbohrer body is also fully electric. Normally, recharging is done overnight. If fast energy supply is needed, the vehicle can be charged to 80% of the installed battery capacity in one hour and 45 minutes with a power of 350 kW.
