Welcome back Midlands – One of the largest charging parks in Birmingham opens

In recent decades, Birmingham has seen much hardship: After MG Rover, LDV also closed its doors – now Jaguar has supported the opening of one of the largest charging stations for electric vehicles in Europe. In August 2023, a fleet of 32 Jaguar I-Pace vehicles was simultaneously deployed at the facility to test the infrastructure in terms of power distribution, fast charging, and vehicle connection. The facility is powered by renewable energy sources, including a roof with a solar panel system.

The Midlands are still the heart of British industry and transportation networks

JLR remains active in the Midlands: The new charging park is located near several of the company's production and office sites in England. The center at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, now opened by the UK's Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt, includes 180 charging points, among them sixteen 300-kW DC fast chargers for 30 charging bays and 150 7-kW AC charging points.
