Rethinking logistics in urban and rural areas – this is one of the objectives of the Institute for New Mobility. With Webfleet, the consulting firm has now found a new partner for its initiative AllianZ-SmartUrbanLogistic (AllianZ-SUL), whose declared goal is to "jointly create more livable spaces." Since logistics in urban and rural areas plays a significant role in this, the partner network focuses precisely on this aspect.

"Our cities are changing, and the question is how we can respond to this," says Wolfgang Schmid, Webfleet Head of Central Region.

This includes the discussion around alternative drive and vehicle concepts but goes far beyond that, Schmid continues.

"How can fleet operators in the area of last mile delivery meet the modern requirements of urban development while also meeting customer expectations for fast and reliable delivery?"

The Webfleet manager looks forward to collaboration, as well as the various discussion and design opportunities within the AllianZ-SUL network, which focuses on the further development of these aspects and questions surrounding logistics in cities and urban areas.

The Institute for New Mobility advises companies along the entire value chain of new mobility and supports them in their transformation processes from conception to technical and operational implementation.

As part of the AllianZ-SmartUrbanLogistic (AllianZ-SUL) initiative, the expertise of various network partners consisting of vehicle manufacturers, trade magazines, consulting firms, and competence centers is to be pooled and strengthened in a sector-specific manner. This combination is intended to help municipalities and companies in the conception and implementation of their challenges within the framework of mobility.

"We want to rethink mobility and supply chains. What do we really need? How can we connect existing elements – vehicles and peripherals, hub systems, platforms, box systems, attachments and superstructures, operating models, fleet management? The goal is a modular offer with defined quality standards," explains Matthias Groher, Head of the Institute for New Mobility.

Webfleet's aim is to offer a comprehensive mobility solution together with network partners, starting from the conceptualization, through the vehicle, the charging infrastructure, to the operation and management of the vehicles.

"Webfleet provides the data. And the increasing networking of various data sources through Webfleet allows companies to efficiently plan their operations and long-term strategies, such as expanding and transitioning to electromobility or autonomous driving," Schmid continues.
