Webasto Pure shows second generation

Webasto has upgraded the basic charging station "Pure": The central LED display now indicates an active charging process with a flowing, gently pulsating color transition. When purchasing, you can choose between a 4.5 and a seven-meter long fixed cable with a Type 2 connector. This provides EV drivers more flexibility in choosing the location for the charging station.

Reassuring: Five Years Warranty

Webasto offers a safety and quality promise of five years on the new "Pure" at no additional cost, significantly exceeding the legal warranty of two years, according to its own statements. Added to this is the integrated DC residual current protection from the factory. This eliminates the need to install a separate "RCD Type B" protective switch, saving costs and installation effort. Heike Niehues, globally responsible for the aftermarket business at Webasto, explains:

 
“Webasto stands for high-quality and user-friendly products. With the new Webasto Pure, we specifically address customer wishes around charging and offer consumers a safe and durable access to electromobility through the extended Webasto warranty as well as by fulfilling all legal requirements.”

As with the previous model, the new Webasto Pure is available in two performance variants, 11kW and 22kW, to meet individual charging power requirements. New is that the installer has additional amperage levels available during the commissioning of the wallbox in order to better adapt the charging current to the already available local infrastructure. The universal key switch, which can lock the charging station for unauthorized users, as well as the easy installation, quick start-up, and easy operability of the charging station (Plug & Play) remain.

Thoughtful: Remote Access via Ripple Control Receiver for Grid Stability

Important for power grid operators is that the new Webasto Pure allows for remote access via a ripple control receiver to ensure grid stability. The Webasto Pure can be used in 33 European countries. New additions include Israel, Norway, Turkey, and Ukraine. In Germany, the charging station is available from a price of 599 euros gross, directly from the manufacturer, for example.

What does that mean?

With the Pure, Webasto offers an affordable "basic box" that has now been specifically improved and also upgraded in installation, safety, and warranty.
