VW ID.3 remains under 40,000 euros

Volkswagen has announced the prices for the recently updated ID.3, which starts at 39,995 euros (including 19 percent VAT) in the Pro variant with a 58 kWh battery and 150 kW in Germany. This keeps it well within the full government subsidy of 4,500 euros, which is granted from January 1, 2023, for a net list price of up to 40,000 euros. However, it is also 4,000 euros more than an equally powerful MG4, which starts at 35,990 euros with the 64 kWh battery; the 51 kWh version is available from 31,990 euros, and the top model with a heat pump ends at 38,000 euros.

The pre-sale of the ID.3 is expected to start at the end of March. "The second-generation ID.3 offers a comprehensive update with high-quality technologies and innovations at a nearly identical entry price as the first version of the ID.3," promotes Imelda Labbé, member of the Board of Management for Sales, Marketing, and After Sales at the Volkswagen brand. Standard equipment includes, among other things, a 30.5-centimeter display (12 inches), a center console with USB-C power delivery connectors, and a multifunction steering wheel made of animal-free materials. "We have listened carefully and taken many wishes into account, such as revising the exterior design and significantly improving the quality of materials in the interior," she adds.
