Volvo Trucks: DFDS orders an additional 25 electric trucks

For what it claims to be the largest shipping and logistics company in Northern Europe, a new order of an additional 25 electric trucks from Volvo Trucks will bring the total number of electric models to 125. The delivery of the vehicles is planned for the fourth quarter of 2022. According to reports, the E-Trucks are intended for transport within DFDS's European logistics system.

“Once again, DFDS has confirmed its great trust in our partnership and technology with this order for another 25 Volvo FM E-Trucks. We are very proud and happy that the ability to offer electric, sustainable transport has clearly developed into a competitive advantage for transport companies. This is very encouraging for Volvo Trucks, our customers, and the climate,” said Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks.

And Niklas Andersson, Executive Vice President and Head of Logistics Division DFDS, believes that green investments in the heavy transport industry are a prerequisite for achieving the emission reductions necessary for DFDS, our customers, and society in general. The partnership with Volvo Trucks allows DFDS, which is headquartered in Copenhagen, to offer additional low-emission transport solutions that are already in high demand among customers.

“We hope that such investments will increase the desire for solutions for green infrastructure across Europe,” Andersson added.
