Volvo EX30: From 2024 also as Cross Country

The all-electric Allroad model continues Volvo's long Cross Country tradition and sets distinctive accents.

From 2024, the EX30 will also be available as a Cross Country - with a roof rack and a more rugged appearance. However, this will significantly reduce its range. | Photo: Volvo Cars

If the EX30 is too tame or sensible, or not off-road enough for you, you can order the "Cross Country" starting in 2024. With more ground clearance, underbody protection, black panels on the front bumper and trunk lid, and black 19-inch wheels, it is more resilient than the base model, gets a bit further off paved roads, but less far on them due to poorer aerodynamics. A special eye-catcher is the small Swedish flag on the hood.

Whether Volvo offers it only as all-wheel drive (then also with less than 315 kW) or also with the single-motor options, remained open. Internally, it could certainly receive some colors and options that might be withheld from the "base" model. In terms of pricing, we expect a good four-figure premium, making a "base model" for under 40,000 euros gross fundamentally feasible.

What does it mean?

Volvo has deliberately designed the EX30 to be compact and therefore close to a standard passenger car. Those who want to sit higher and seek more of an SUV will find an interesting alternative in the "Cross Country" – even though, by principle, it will lose a few kilometers of range.
