The German cleantech company Voltfang, a specialist in energy storage systems, has presented an energy-efficient and high-performance battery storage system for outdoor applications. The battery storage system is designed to integrate seamlessly and easily into existing energy networks. The new version is expected to offer cost advantages with reduced payback periods and doubled capacity starting from 180 kWh compared to the first product generation. Thanks to the integration of all components of the energy storage system into one housing, the Voltfang 2 can be installed as a turnkey solution for the customer. The battery modules come from proven high-performance batteries from the European automotive industry.

Climate Control Already Protects the Storage

As an all-in-one solution for logistics, the system is equipped with efficient climate control that ensures the ideal battery temperature of the system. Thus, the storage system can withstand external temperatures from –20 to 50 degrees Celsius. By optimally tempering the batteries, the lifespan of the modules can be maximized, guaranteeing 10 years or 6000 charging cycles.

“Our system is specifically designed for outdoor use to provide our customers with a smooth process. Therefore, installation conditions such as a fire protection room or expensive fire insurance are no longer necessary. Installation can be done in two hours. The system offers a user-friendly interface to our energy management system Enma. Enma enables the integration of PV, charging stations, and heat pumps. In addition, it is possible to optimally combine various energy systems and map numerous use cases,” outlines Afshin Doostdar, Founder and CTO of Voltfang.

David Oudsandji, founder and CEO of Voltfang, believes that in order to achieve the energy transition in Germany, the power grid must be decentralized. This includes taking large consumers from industry and commerce off the grid and stabilizing the power grid through buffer storage. The goal is to bring future-proof storage capacity to the market with Voltfang 2. This is intended to provide companies with planning security and enable them to benefit from favorable market prices.

"This gives companies and industry the means to obtain competitive electricity prices," Oudsandji says.

Voltfang 2 will be officially presented at EES Europe from June 19 to 21 in Munich and will be offered exclusively with a capacity starting at 180 kWh. Visitors can find Voltfang in Hall B2 at Stand 109.
