VISION mobility THINK TANKs start strong into spring

The VISION mobility THINK TANKs are back in full swing! Four THINK TANKs are planned until July, providing important information and comprehensively discussing current topics. Audience participation is not only welcome but expressly desired. The new format THINK TANK focused will examine a specific topic from several professionals from completely different perspectives. Listeners will not only gain a deeper insight into the topic and receive valuable tips and tricks but also exclusive background information directly from the experts. Starting from April 28, 2022, four VISION mobility THINK TANKs are planned, covering the entire spectrum of modern mobility, connectivity, and infrastructure. The first event will take place at BUS2BUS in Berlin, focusing on the "mobility transition" in public transport, where batteries and fuel cells are particularly on the rise. The THINK TANK will explain the expected timeframes for the transformation and what to consider when installing the necessary infrastructures.

The VISION mobility THINK TANKs are meant to serve as a stimulus, showcasing development, research, and practical results from various perspectives that are subsequently discussed. High-profile experts from research, politics, and industry will explain current or future forms of new mobility and then engage in discussions – with the panel and the audience. The plenary does not need to agree on a topic but can lead to exciting, sometimes even controversial discussions. The main function of the VISION mobility THINK TANKs remains the explanation and discussion of new ideas and approaches in the fields of mobility, connectivity, and infrastructure.

The VISION mobility THINK TANKs are supported by partners such as Deloitte, Geotab, Michelin, and UTA Edenred. The following THINK TANKs will take place in 2022:

• New Drive Landscapes: From the perspective of the energy transition, the trend in passenger transport by bus is leaning towards batteries and fuel cells. The THINK TANK will explain the necessary timeframes and infrastructures as well as the political framework conditions in Europe. The THINK TANK will take place as part of the BUS2BUS Future Forum on April 28, 2022, from 2:05 pm to 2:45 pm. The forum will be hosted by Claus Bünnagel, Editor-in-Chief of busplaner and expert at VISION mobility.
• Drive Change or Mobility Change? Why it takes more than switching from fossil fuels to electric: The German coalition government aims for 15 million electric cars by 2030 and wants to make Germany a leader in the electric vehicle market. Registration numbers are also rising. However, the space issue remains unresolved. Additionally, questions about electricity demand, total ecological balance, and resource conflicts arise. We debate why a real change requires more than a switch in drives and how we can achieve more mobility with less traffic. The THINK TANK will take place on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, from 1:50 pm to 2:50 pm as part of Power2Drive and will be moderated by Johannes Reichel, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of VISION mobility.
• E-Vans for the Last Mile: Supply and Deployment With users and manufacturers of electrified transporters in the weight range between two and 7.5 tons total weight – in both the OEM and retrofitting sectors – challenges in charging infrastructure, service, and uptime will be discussed. Specific application areas depending on use, topography, and cost analysis will also be covered. The THINK TANK will take place on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, as part of the Smart City Logistics Congress from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the Volkshaus in Jena and will be moderated by Robert Domina, Test and Technology Expert for Commercial Vehicles at Transport and VISION mobility.
• THINK TANK focused: Fleet Conversion to Electromobility. A topic currently driving all fleet operators to reduce costs and especially CO2 emissions. In addition, many other potentials can be leveraged – and sometimes the devil is in the details. In the first THINK TANK focused, experts will examine these additional potentials to ensure that fleet conversion pays off even faster. The THINK TANK will take place online on July 13, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 am and will be moderated by Gregor Soller, Editor-in-Chief of VISION mobility.
