Vision Mobility Survey: Will Tesla continue to grow? Yes, but...

Tesla's growth is slowing down (as expected) somewhat, albeit at a high level: After all, the company is now among the manufacturers that build more than a million cars annually – and that with a comparatively small range of four models!

So far, so good, especially since the company is now established in many EU markets in the "midfield" and has moved into the top twenty or even top ten in the brand rankings, leaving many established manufacturers behind. But the former growth rates are a thing of the past, and in the third quarter, Tesla didn't achieve the planned numbers. Which is why we wanted to know how you see the future of the brand. About 60 votes were cast, and the largest portion of 45% (or 25 votes) opted for:

"Definitely! Further products like the Model 2 are already in the pipeline."

21% or twelve participants had a more differentiated view, ticking:

"Every brand reaches its position eventually. It has now reached the volume-rich midfield."

But there were also critical voices: 34% or 19 votes were cast for:

"An impressive achievement for a young US manufacturer. But it will be hard to maintain, as the competition isn't sleeping!"

It will now be interesting to see how the facelifted Model 3 is received in China and Europe, whether Tesla manages to get a handle on its service, and how the plans for the volume model "Model 2" progress.

What does this mean?

Tesla's future is now being assessed much more differentiated than a few years ago: The company is beyond a one-hit-wonder niche provider, but triple-digit growth rates are also no longer achievable. We will see where the brand lands in the future. Regardless, who would have thought ten years ago that a new US brand would achieve such widespread adoption in Europe?
