VISION mobility survey: What do you think of the BMDV funding program "Solar Power for Electric Vehicles"?
The funding program 442 was a flash in the pan because: the fund was exhausted within a day. In detail, it was about the topic "solar power for electric cars" and this time only the "pizza with everything" was funded, meaning: solar system, storage, and wallbox, for which several basic prerequisites and, above all, the necessary cash were required: Up to 10,200 euros were available for an existing property that could be appropriately upgraded.
Obviously, those who were already considering such a package immediately "booked" – and in such numbers that the server crashed and the funding pot was empty by the evening...our readers viewed this generous "all-in package" quite critically:
Only 11%, or 5 votes, thought
“Great, this could give a boost to sector coupling in the private area.”
20%, or nine votes, opted for the nuanced possibility
“Basically a good idea, but apartment owners with a parking space should have been included.
The majority, in this case 69% or 31 participants, voted instead for:
“Total nonsense. The program is antisocial and promotes existing plans of homeowners who have already cashed in on the electric premium.”
Indeed, it does not solve the problem of stagnant infrastructure expansion in urban areas, where many still turn to internal combustion engines because they find the charging infrastructure too uncertain...and those who do not have a property or the necessary cash for the "big" package were left out just as much as those who were not quick enough. In general, it should be reconsidered that new technologies are certainly not brought into the market through permanent funding because if something has to be supported, protected, or promoted, it is actually a sign that the product or in this case package is not "marketable." At least not for the general public.
What does this mean?
Our readers gave a clear vote this time: Such a generous funding pot only helps a few who can already afford it and who are well-prepared with a property. Everyone else was left out – especially since the little pot was licked clean within a day...
