Valeo: Leading French Patent Applicant at EPO

Valeo is a world leader in each of its fields of activity and occupies a leading position in the transformation of mobility. The group has improved by ten places in the patent rankings. According to Christophe Périllat, Chief Executive Officer of Valeo, the automotive supplier is accelerating its innovation capabilities to respond to market challenges and provide safer and more environmentally friendly mobility solutions to customers worldwide.

Innovations from Valeo are now protected by nearly 33,000 patents worldwide. In 2022, the focus of the patents filed by Valeo were on occupant comfort, driver assistance systems, high-voltage and lighting systems. Smarter heat pump control, software for controlling the parking process, and further development of vehicle electrification were also a focus for the developers.

In 2022, Valeo invested 10.4 percent of its revenue in research and development. 92 percent of the Valeo Group's OE sales are generated by technologies that help reduce CO2 emissions and improve safety.
