The Berlin-based manufacturer and operator of charging solutions for electric vehicles, ubitricity, a subsidiary of the oil company Shell, has won a tender from the French municipal association Le Havre Seine for 534 public AC and DC charging points at 172 locations. The installation of the first 22 kW AC charging stations will begin in the summer of 2022, the provider announced. By the end of 2024, a total of 478 AC charging points will be available. Furthermore, ubitricity will operate 56 fast charging points with a power output of up to 150 kW each. These public charging points will be available to both residents and tourists throughout the region. The use of the newly integrated charging points is possible with common roaming apps such as Shell Recharge. All 534 charging points will be supplied exclusively with electricity from renewable energies. The selection of locations for all charging points is made in close coordination with local authorities.

"We are proud to drive the expansion of charging infrastructure in Normandy. Thanks to the expertise of ubitricity and Shell's e-mobility offerings, we provide a comprehensive solution that makes it easier for drivers to switch to electric cars," said Daniel Kunkel, CEO of ubitricity.

As one of the leading providers and operators of lamppost charging points, the company boasts extensive experience in advising local partners on their public charging infrastructure requirements. For the project, the company also drew on the resources and expertise within the Shell group to offer a broad range of charging solutions.
