Truck of the Year 2024 for Volvo FH Electric: An Electric Vehicle at the Top for the First Time

The heavy electric truck from Volvo, the Volvo FH Electric, has been named the International Truck of the Year 2024. In their statement, the jury praised the performance of the electric truck, its smooth acceleration, low noise level, and vibration-free driving behavior.

"With the introduction of the FH Electric, Volvo Trucks has developed a highly advanced battery-electric vehicle model that is suitable for a variety of transport tasks. This is proof that the energy transition is gaining strength even in a challenging economic environment," said Gianenrico Griffini, Chairman of the International Truck of the Year.

Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks, accepted the prestigious award at the ceremony during the Solutrans Transport trade fair in Lyon, France.

"I am very proud that our Volvo FH Electric has received this highly esteemed award. For the first time in history, the transport industry has chosen an electric vehicle as 'Truck of the Year'. The Volvo FH Electric represents a new era in truck transport, and winning this prize clearly shows that the transition to emission-free transport is happening here and now," commented Roger Alm.

Won for the Fourth Time

The Volvo FH has already been chosen as Truck of the Year for the fourth time. According to the manufacturer, almost 1.4 million of these vehicles have been sold so far, making it one of the most in-demand models in the industry worldwide.
