Toyota: German Kinto subsidiary soon to launch car sharing.
Following the reportedly successful introduction of the mobility brand Kinto into the German market at the beginning of 2020, Toyota has now also launched the newly founded Kinto Deutschland GmbH. By bundling various mobility services and products under one roof, the transformation into a mobility service provider is to be completed. "With the roll-out in the German market, we will further strengthen our position in Europe," believes Tom Fux, CEO of Kinto Europe. Since the introduction of the brand in Europe, the services have continuously gained in recognition and popularity. They also want to build on that in the German market. From the very beginning, the company offers two products in the form of Full-Service-Leasing One and the flexible car subscription Flex.
High growth in Full-Service Leasing
With Full-Service Leasing, the contract is conveniently concluded through the next Toyota or Lexus dealer. In addition to the pure vehicle, additional services such as maintenance, wear and tear, wheels and tires, insurance, and fuel card are offered. Even today, the product has annual new contracts in the five-digit range, the manufacturer reports. With the subscription, customers could quickly and easily book their new car online at a fixed price without much bureaucratic effort, they continue to promise. In doing so, the service combines the benefits of car ownership with the flexibility to choose from the wide range of Toyota and Lexus models according to taste and need. The most important ongoing costs are included in the subscription rate.
"Despite the very good start, we are aware of the challenges in the German market," explained Jürgen Brustbauer, Managing Director of Kinto Deutschland.
The targeted clientele includes, among others, companies with small to medium-sized fleets, which they want to focus on. Bernhard Cziesla acts as COO, while Rocco Eisebith takes on the role of Chief of Corporate Functions. The next products announced include Share, offering a wide range of car-sharing services for commercial, public, and private customers, with the launch set to take place shortly. In addition, they will expand the additional services offered for the One service to better meet the needs of small and medium-sized fleets. This includes an expansion of the fuel card and insurance offerings, as well as handling motor vehicle tax and broadcasting fees.
