TomTom and Webfleet Solutions synchronize apps
The telematics provider Webfleet Solutions and the mapping specialist TomTom are launching the Webfleet Work App and the TomTom Go Fleet App together. In the project, both companies create a central point of contact for fleet managers and drivers – to ensure adherence to routes and timely deliveries as well as to increase traffic safety.
The Webfleet Work App
The Webfleet Work App allows drivers to complete their work easily and efficiently – and all through their Android smartphone. Without additional hardware, fleet managers and drivers can utilize numerous workforce management functions – such as tracking, time recording, driver registration, setting driving modes, managing orders and schedules, or communicating with the headquarters.
The TomTom Go Fleet App
The TomTom Go Fleet application is seamlessly integrated, so drivers always have access to up-to-date maps, traffic information, and navigation via one device. This allows them to start their route automatically and conveniently from the Work App, while fleet managers can track the current arrival time and destination in real-time.
Truck Routing Feature
In conjunction with TomTom Go Fleet, drivers receive professional navigation for all vehicle types they operate, as well as an enhanced truck routing feature, via the Webfleet Work App. This is based on the characteristics of the vehicle, the type of cargo, local regulations, and road conditions. Additionally, TomTom Go Fleet supports truck drivers by finding special points of interest such as parking and fuel stations specifically for large vehicles and by providing up-to-date maps – even when there is no connection. With arrival times and real-time traffic information, the app helps drivers meet schedules and reduce fuel costs.
The Webfleet Work App is the perfect solution for drivers who want to use their own smartphone to effectively complete their daily tasks. Setup and onboarding are quick and easy, offering great flexibility with an intuitive user interface. This makes it the perfect complement to the TomTom Go Fleet App. (Paul Verheijen, Vice President Product Management at Bridgestone Mobility Solutions)
The Webfleet Work App is now available for all Webfleet Solutions customers who have installed a Link-740/710/530/510/410 tracking device. The option for mobile tracking – without any hardware installation – will be available in the coming months.
Webfleet Solutions was known as TomTom Telematics until April 2019 and was acquired by Bridgestone Europe, a subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation. Although Webfleet Solutions no longer operates as a business unit of TomTom, both companies continue to collaborate.
What does this mean?
The new Webfleet Work App and the TomTom Go Fleet App are expected to further simplify the jobs of companies and drivers.
