The upcoming fair THE TIRE COLOGNE, which will take place from June 4 to 6, 2024, presents itself as the central business platform for the tire and wheel industry. With an expectation of 50 percent more exhibitors than at previous events, an upward trend is evident.

"We have been preparing THE TIRE COLOGNE 2024 for months with great joy, so that it once again becomes the most important networking fair for the B2B business of the industry. I am very satisfied with the number of registrations not only quantitatively, but also qualitatively. Overall, this means for the current event that we will have significantly higher occupancy of the halls with even more exhibitors compared to THE TIRE COLOGNE 2022. We expect an increase of around 50 percent," Director of THE TIRE COLOGNE.

This year, sustainability and digitalization are the focus as relevant industry topics. At the beginning of the year, 90 percent of the exhibition space for the fair is already occupied, underscoring the international significance of THE TIRE COLOGNE. In particular, the strong presence of exhibitors from the Asian region, including Taiwan, China, and India, emphasizes the global importance of the event.

"It is also pleasing to note that we are receiving positive feedback not only from well-known brands but also from some returning and new exhibitors, such as Maxxis or MRF in the tire and wheel sector, Heuver with the Albourgh brand, Euromaster and tyre24.com in the trade sector, VIPAL, B&J Rocket, and Tech Europe in the retreading and repair sector, as well as Würth in the workshop segment," Riedeberger continued.

The primary concern of THE TIRE COLOGNE is to act as a driving force for the global tire industry. The trade fair focuses on forward-looking trends and key topics that offer prospects and business potential for the sector. As part of this approach, the concept of the "Circular Economy Area" was developed, which brings together companies from the tire recycling economy. One example of this is the tire network "AZuR," which, together with 16 partners, comprehensively represents the tire recycling economy.

Circular Economy for Tires

AZuR is committed to the material and thermal recovery of used tires and works towards recycling 100 percent of used tires. The network's initiatives include processing used tires into rubber powder and granulate for sustainable products such as durable floor coverings for playgrounds and sports fields, weather-resistant protective mats for green roofs and photovoltaic systems, as well as recovering valuable raw materials through pyrolysis.

The network aims to increase the retreading rate of used tires for commercial vehicles from 30 to 40 percent and for car tires from 1 to 10 percent. This requires greater awareness of the benefits of retreaded tires among manufacturers and consumers. The network is also committed to improving the quality of tire carcasses to increase the number of retreadable tires and is working to dispel concerns about the use of retreaded tires and products made from recycled tires.

Retreading is a core topic of THE TIRE COLOGNE. The event serves as a platform for exchange between renowned industry players and experts. The topic of recycling, particularly innovative concepts for thermal and material recovery, is highlighted as an area with enormous development potential.

Shortage of skilled workers and digitalization

In the face of challenges such as the shortage of skilled workers and increasing digitalization, the tire trade is also confronted with rising demands. This year, the trade fair addresses these topics and, in the special format "Workshop LIVE," presents future requirements for workshops, particularly in the areas of diagnostic and repair technology, in collaboration with companies like Hunter and Würth.

With an innovative trade fair concept and a variety of event and networking formats, THE TIRE COLOGNE 2024 is positioned as a dynamic and future-oriented event that highlights the latest developments and trends in the industry.

What does that mean?

In its 2024 edition, THE TIRE COLOGNE addresses numerous exciting topics in addition to tires that drive the industry both directly and indirectly. A smart orientation.
