Tesla Model 3 Highland: World Premiere at IAA Mobility?

It is clear that the Model 3 "Highland" needs to become cheaper in production. That is why, similar to the Model Y, the entire rear section will be made from a "Gigacast" element, whereas now numerous parts still need to be welded together. Crush boxes at the front and rear are supposed to protect it, because if it is damaged, the car would basically have to be discarded – since removing it from the bodywork would be extremely labor-intensive.

Inside, the operating logic should follow the Model S: This means a 17-inch screen instead of 15 inches, with tiles that can be selected and moved, and better overview. The computing speed is already up to par. Additionally, there are optional ventilated seats, which will be necessary since the steering column levers are supposed to disappear: The turn signal will move to steering wheel buttons, and driving controls will be swiped on the screen. This is also known from the Model S, but it is definitely not an ergonomic improvement.

And to make the Model 3 instantly recognizable as "new" from the outside, the design will be sharpened, but not in a completely unconventional way: The front will look visually more horizontal and wider, and L-shaped chevrons at the rear are intended to provide more elegance.
