Tesla is once again the world's largest electric car manufacturer.

According to a stock market announcement, BYD was able to sell only 300,114 electric cars in the first three months of 2024. While this is an increase compared to the previous year, it is a noticeable decline compared to the previous quarter. Tesla also fell below 400,000 units – the Americans were able to sell 386,810 electric cars. BYD recorded a 43 percent decline in electric vehicles compared to the previous quarter, from October to December 2023. At that time, they sold more electric vehicles than ever before with 526,409 units, surpassing Tesla as the world's largest electric car manufacturer.

BYD's growth also takes a small hit

According to stock market reports, BYD sold a total of 626,263 vehicles of all types in the first quarter of 2023. While this is an increase of 13 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year, it is a decrease of 34 percent compared to the record high of 944,779 units in the fourth quarter of 2023.
