Telekom/Vattenfall: Cooperation for Standardized Charging Infrastructure
A faster and standardized procedure for the installation of wall boxes for electric vehicles is now being offered nationwide by the energy supplier Vattenfall and Deutsche Telekom. They aim to appeal to both electric car owners and companies who want to provide their customers with charging opportunities on their parking lots. The project will be managed by a subsidiary of Vattenfall. It is called Vattenfall Smaller Living GmbH and operates the VLINK platform. The more than 7,000 employees in Telekom's technical field service division are to contribute to it. Telekom subsidiary T-Systems on site services GmbH will handle on-site consulting and installation.
The service also includes the subsequent commissioning of the wall box and the required registration with the respective network operator. The maintenance of wall boxes is also part of the offering from both partners. The platform will offer interested customers an online consultation appointment, where the possibilities on site can be assessed via video transmission. This way, technicians can get an impression of the structural environment without having to visit on site. In response to a request from taxi heute, a Telekom spokeswoman explained that a majority of the charging stations are normal charging stations, which are operated with alternating current and have a power output of up to 22 kW.
