Politics and business in Italy are not always easy to understand for outsiders. This is also true for Tazzari, where they initially planned to build the Microlino, but then gave up this business part to advance mid-range electric car developments for third-party customers – which would have led them to leave the small car segment.

Now the reversal: At the end of the year, the Italians will present a colorful bouquet of various new developments, all of which are located in the small car and leisure segment plus a cargo version.

In the already in production "Open Sky", the name speaks for itself

In Hall 24 at Stand E78, three completely new product lines will be presented, including the electric “Buggy”, which refers to the Beetle conversions of the 1960s and is primarily intended for coastal areas and islands with warm climates. The whole thing is modernly interpreted by the “Open Sky”, which was also presented in 2021. The light vehicle limited to 45 km/h has a 5 or 9 kWh battery for up to 75 or 137 kilometers of range and starts at 14,990 euros gross, which is 12,600 euros net – in this case without windows, doors, and roll bars.

Completely new are the closed Minimax-45 and Minimax-80 models, from which Tazzari has also derived “Cubo” versions for commercial use, offered as pick-up and van. The Cubo can accommodate Europallets and offers a loading area of 110x125 cm with an overall width of only 120 cm. For it, there are three battery sizes, referred to as “Standard,” “Big,” and “Pro,” the latter of which is said to offer up to 300 km range – enough for a working day or even a working week. Here too, the base version comes “naked,” meaning without doors for quick entry and exit.

The Minimax comes as a light L6e with a top speed of 45 km/h and as an L7e with a maximum speed of 80 km/h. It is also 1.2 meters narrow. It can also be delivered open without doors or closed with heating and forms the "basis" for the Cubo – which offers a longer wheelbase behind the passenger compartment as well as the flatbed and box.

What does this mean?

After a longer period of inactivity, Tazzari is rolling out four new models: In addition to the already mass-produced "Open Sky," the Minimax, Minimax Cubo, and the Buggy complete the portfolio – with which Tazzari is significantly expanding its range in the light vehicle segment. However, this comes at not quite cheap prices and with a focus on warm and sunny countries. To establish the "Cubo," which is interesting for all of Europe, in Germany as well, a dense and professional service network would be needed.
