The Berlin-based GreenTech company Swobbee and the oil and energy corporation TotalEnergies have signed a framework agreement to closely collaborate on the development of charging infrastructure for light electric vehicles (LEVs). This includes, for example, electric cargo bikes, whose numbers are rapidly increasing. The first station has now been put into operation at the TotalEnergies gas station at Schöneberger Straße 17 in Berlin-Tempelhof, with more to follow. The two companies have been working together for several years and have successfully tested the offering in practical operations. Now, the partners are taking the next step and plan to gradually equip gas stations in major cities across Germany with Swobbee’s innovative battery swapping stations. The newly established Swobbee station on Schöneberger Straße is conveniently located near the Südkreuz station, which is beneficial for logisticians and delivery drivers, they claim.

Without interrupting business operations, Battery- and Vehicle-as-a-Service customers can quickly swap empty GreenPack and Torrot batteries for fully charged ones at this location. Additionally, the station is equipped with a large advertising display, which offers attractive cross-marketing opportunities to the gas station operator.

“We are very pleased not only to continue our good collaboration with TotalEnergies but also to expand it significantly in the future. Gas stations are established mobility hubs that have attractive, conveniently located spaces in densely built cities – ideal conditions to also become the energy hubs of the future. The integration of charging infrastructure for electric light vehicles acknowledges the diversification of mobility, which is currently in full swing,” Thomas Duscha, CEO and co-founder of Swobbee, is convinced.
