After the last owner of the former DHL subsidiary Streetscooter had to file for bankruptcy last fall due to supply bottlenecks and quality problems, a solution for continued operation now seems to be emerging. According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the original founder, 65-year-old RTWH professor and start-up entrepreneur Günther Schuh, is taking over the company again. This will be accompanied by a purchase guarantee for 700 of the light electric transporters in the first half of the year.

The new name of the versatile and urban operation-optimized vehicles will be "e.Volution," like the founder's company. However, after the sale to B.On, DHL retained the important battery manufacturing and supplied the new owner. Schuh now intends to invest 25 million euros in the new development, which is set to hit the market in 2026. The serial founder, as usual, proclaimed confidently that Streetscooter would be taken to "a new level." Until then, 3,500 units of the existing models are to be produced.
