StoreDot: Validated High Performance for Fast Charging Batteries
The Israeli lithium-ion battery specialist StoreDot has had the performance data of its XFC fast-charging batteries for electric vehicles validated by the battery laboratory Shmuel De-Leon Energy. The internationally recognized experts in the field of energy storage and electromobility subjected StoreDot's production-ready XFC batteries to a series of thorough tests and confirmed the market readiness of the technology as well as its fast-charging and high-energy performance.
Charging in six minutes
The test program included energy density, charging speed, operating conditions, and cycles. The results showed an energy density of 300 Wh/kg and 1,000 consecutive XFC cycles for StoreDot's proprietary technology, which can utilize currently existing production facilities—a significant advantage. StoreDot believes it will be able to achieve a charge of 100 miles or 160 km in five minutes with its batteries by 2024, in three minutes by 2028, and within the next decade, in two minutes. This means vehicles with a range of 500 km could initially be fully charged in 15 minutes, and later in six to nine minutes.
In recent months, we have demonstrated the performance capability of StoreDot's XFC batteries in public live charging demonstrations. However, the independent evaluation by the leading battery laboratory Shmuel De-Leon Energy was essential for us to independently validate our extremely fast charging technologies. The laboratory report concludes: "The StoreDot fast-charging battery technology is a breakthrough and a turning point for the automotive industry."
