Even faster than expected, Stellantis subsidiary Fiat has announced the switch to PSA's EMP2 platform, combined with a comeback of the Scudo compact transporter model and the Ulysse large MPV. This also marks the end of the Talento's intermezzo, which was available as both a passenger and a cargo van based on the Renault Trafic. The new van will come as both a diesel and a pure electric variant in all versions—cargo, passenger, and flatbed—as well as in the three lengths of the identical siblings, which are now also marketed by Peugeot, Citroen, Opel, and Toyota. The two brands Fiat and Fiat Professional are returning to the French site with the new models, where some of their most famous vehicles were already produced. The higher-end Fiat Ulysse MPV between 1994 and 2002 and the Fiat Scudo from 1996 to 2016. The industrial complex, opened in 1992 as part of the historic joint venture between the then conglomerates Fiat and PSA, will be the "cradle" of the two new models, which will address the challenges of new, increasingly sustainable urban mobility. The two new models are named Fiat Ulysse and Fiat Professional Scudo, following the success of their predecessors. By 2030, Stellantis expects the share of low-emission vehicles in its sales in Europe to be more than 70 percent and in the USA to be more than 40 percent. To achieve this, Stellantis plans to invest more than 30 billion euros in electrification and software development by 2025.
