The French automotive group Stellantis has announced a quick start to 2024 for its Pro business unit: In France, Italy, and Spain, the brands were the best-selling automotive manufacturers in both the electric and the pure energy markets. In Germany, the group was particularly successful with its brands Citroën, Fiat Professional, Peugeot, and Opel in the light commercial vehicle sector: Thanks to a significant increase in sales (up by around 58%), the market share of the new Stellantis Pro One business unit could be significantly increased. With a market share of 22.6%, almost every fourth light commercial vehicle newly registered in January in Germany came from a group brand.

Peugeot leads in Italy and France

Additionally, the Fiat Professional brand ranked number 1 in Italy, and Peugeot and Peugeot e-208 were number 1 in the electric market in France. The Peugeot Partner/Rifter was the best-selling model in the Spanish pure electric vehicle market in the first month of the year with a market share of 9.7%. In the United Kingdom, the group leads the all-electric vehicle market with a market share of over 33% and ranks second in the pure electric vehicle market with a rising market share of 27.17%.

Electric market: Group underscores leading role

Vauxhall is also successful, increasing its market share by one percentage point compared to last year to 9.85%, making Vauxhall the third-largest manufacturer of light commercial vehicles in the United Kingdom. With a market share of 48.6% in the entire energy market, the company is the undisputed market leader in Portugal. Furthermore, the business unit emphasizes its leadership in the electric market: Sales in January increased by 22.4%, reaching a market share of 46.2%, with Peugeot being the best-selling brand.

First major H2 vans go to partner Hysetco

In addition to the strong start of the year, the company will deliver a fleet of Peugeot e-Expert Hydrogen vans to the French company Hysetco, which claims to be the European market leader in hydrogen mobility, in the coming months. They will be offered to commercial users as part of the company's package, which includes all services such as maintenance, repairs, insurance, replacement vehicles, administrative formalities, or training, and are specifically designed for passenger transport (wheelchair-accessible taxis, shuttles, etc.), logistics, or other commercial purposes (as utility vehicles). According to the manufacturer, this constitutes the largest fleet of hydrogen-powered light commercial vehicles for this type of use.

"With another delivery of hydrogen vehicles and our strong results at the beginning of 2024, Stellantis Pro One once again proves that it offers a diverse and broad range of models that support our professional customers in their transition to emission-free mobility. We are the first manufacturer in the world to launch a range of hydrogen-powered electric vehicles that cover two segments and offer our customers a solution to complement electric vehicles," explains Xavier Peugeot, Director of the Stellantis Pro One Business Unit.
