The French Stellantis group is also increasingly focusing on the circular economy as a sustainability factor and has taken a majority stake in Stimcar, a French specialist in vehicle reconditioning. This will be integrated into the Stellantis &You, Sales and Services retail network. Stellantis is following the example set by Renault, which has already implemented a complete series reconditioning of used vehicles with the Re:Factory concept. The agreement stipulates that Stimcar’s founders, Jean-François and Yann Brazeau, as well as the entire staff currently employed in the company, will continue to be employed. With a view towards future development, the number of employees at Stimcar is expected to increase. The plan includes the establishment of several reconditioning centers in Europe, in addition to the existing centers in Bordeaux, Nantes, and Toulouse, and from 2023 also internationally.

Stimcar is already reconditioning used cars for Stellantis &You, Sales and Services in western French city of Nantes. The new parent company aims for a sales volume of around 100,000 used vehicles per year. The vehicles undergo a standardized reconditioning process to meet the requirements of the SPOTICAR label.
