Starting signal for the busplaner Innovation Award 2022

It is a challenging time for the bus industry. The COVID-19 pandemic, the epochal shift in drive technology towards electromobility, and the shortage of chips and batteries pose significant challenges for manufacturers and transport companies. At the same time, they also offer great opportunities to achieve groundbreaking solutions with innovative products.

The "busplaner Innovationspreis 2022" aims to reflect outstanding current developments in buses and components as well as in tourism services. Among the candidates and products nominated by the editorial team for the prestigious award, you will find the who's who of the bus scene.

The 75 innovative solutions prove how much dynamism and power countless developers in corporations, but also in smaller start-ups, are currently bringing to the bus industry, driving it towards a hopeful future. Because even politics has now recognized the importance of the bus after years of neglect - especially as an important innovation driver and factor in the environmentally friendly transformation of mobility.

A significant focus of the readers’ choice is in the area of electromobility. Electric, hybrid, and fuel cell buses are up for selection in four categories. Safety solutions to protect against viruses and bacteria or pedestrian and passenger safety dominate categories such as "vehicle equipment" and "assistance systems." But award winners are also sought in fields like "climate control/heating," "tires," or "workshop, depot, and accessories." With the categories "tourist attractions," "destinations and travel destinations," and "group and package tour operators," bus tourism rounds off the readers' choice with innovative programs and offers.

busplaner readers are invited from December 20, 2021, to March 9, 2022, to determine their favorites at www.busplaner.de/innovationspreis. Attractive prizes await everyone who participates and casts their vote. The winners of the "busplaner Innovationspreis 2022" will be announced at a major event during the BUS2BUS in Berlin at the end of April.
