Stadtwerke Düsseldorf joins ladenetz.de as the 150th partner
In 2018, the ladenetz.de consortium of municipal utilities continues to grow. Stadtwerke Düsseldorf now joins as the 150th partner in ladenetz.de. Additionally, Düsseldorf aims to be one of the pioneering cities regarding the expansion of charging infrastructure. At the same time, the municipal utilities are introducing the new version of the billing system "laderechnung" in practice for the first time. Customers of Stadtwerke Düsseldorf can now charge their electric vehicles not only in Düsseldorf but also at over 150 municipal utilities within the ladenetz.de network and at a total of around 8,000 charging points nationwide using a single card.
ladenetz.de is a consortium of municipal utility partners who jointly build and network charging infrastructure. Local energy suppliers can join the consortium and thus become part of a nationwide network that offers its customers a dense charging station system for electric mobility. Thanks to the involvement of Stadtwerke Düsseldorf in “ladenetz,” the network has been expanded. Düsseldorf customers can thus use all charging stations of the entire network. With the steadily growing number of partners, the available charging infrastructure also increases. As a result, the number of charging points within the consortium has increased by more than 100 percent in the past year. Altogether, the partners already operate around 2,200 charging points.
Customers of the municipal utilities can conveniently charge their vehicles everywhere with the same card. Their point of contact for billing remains their local utility company. In addition, there are about 13,000 more charging points across Europe that customers can also use thanks to existing roaming cooperations with other charging infrastructure providers.
In addition to pure charging, products from smartlab offer a comprehensive electromobility package for municipal utility customers. The charging station management system from smartlab provides everything from a single source. This includes various authorization media as well as proven concepts for consulting, service, and billing.
Billing via the new generation of "laderechnung" was introduced for the first time at Stadtwerke Düsseldorf as a pilot customer. Once this practical test is successfully conducted, "laderechnung" will also be introduced for other customers or partners. With the new billing system, smartlab is taking an important step towards digitalization.
What does this mean?
With ladenetz.de, Smartlab connects regional energy suppliers with nationwide charging, thereby likely meeting the ideal expectations of many electric vehicle users: one card for all stations, but billing is handled locally by the home utility company.
