Solaris maintains leading position in European e-bus market
With a market share of 16.4%, Solaris remains the undisputed market leader for electric buses in Europe after the first six months of 2023. Of the total 2,567 registered units, 421 came from the Polish manufacturer. MAN (10.1%) and BYD/ADL (8.7%) follow at a respectful distance.
Historically, too, Solaris leads in this segment from 2012 to the end of June 2023. During this period, the Polish company delivered more than 2,000 electric buses to its customers in over 20 countries.
E-Bus Segment: plus 37%
The e-bus segment in Europe grew by 45% in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period last year - from 1,768 to 2,567 vehicles. It now accounts for more than 37% of all city bus registrations on the continent. The sector has been gradually growing for many years, while the market for combustion engines is declining. The total volume of city bus registrations in Europe was 12.5% higher in the first six months of this year compared to the same period last year.
