Solaris delivers 106 electric and fuel cell buses for ÖBB Postbus
Solaris has signed a framework contract with ÖBB Postbus: Accordingly, up to 24 Urbino 9 LE electric and 82 Urbino 12 hydrogen can be called up. According to the contract, deliveries are planned for the period from 2022 to 2025, with an option to extend until 2028 also agreed. ÖBB Postbus had already ordered 40 Urbino 12 hydrogen buses in February of last year. They feature a 70 kW fuel cell, five hydrogen tanks with a total capacity of 1,560 liters, and a high-performance battery.
High Maneuverability
The Urbino 9 LE electric is the latest member of the electric Solaris family. It made its debut in September 2021 and meets the registration requirements for both Class I and II. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the Urbino 9 LE electric is predestined for the steep routes with tight curves in the Austrian mountains. The drive system includes, among other things, an electric central motor and high-energy batteries with a total capacity of about 280 kWh. The bus interior offers space for at least 65 passengers.
400 Solaris Buses in 40 Austrian Cities
Solaris has been represented in Austria since 2003 and has since delivered more than 400 buses to 40 cities there. Nearly 70 of them are emission-free vehicles.
