Didier Pfleger is the new CEO of the Skoda Group. The 57-year-old has worked at Alstom for over a decade – including as a member of the board and head of the Aptis electric bus division.
With Pfleger as the new CEO, the transformation of Skoda into a diversified manufacturer of modern transportation systems and solutions as well as the company's geographical expansion are to be advanced, according to the press release. Pfleger succeeds Petr Brzezina, who has led the traditional Czech manufacturer Skoda since 2018.
“I have great respect for the Skoda tradition and its achievements in building environmentally friendly, safe, and comfortable transportation systems. My immediate goals are to improve the company’s profitability and ensure Skoda's operational excellence during this significant growth phase,” said the new CEO.
Other Personnel Changes
The sales, production management, and the chief financial officer positions have also been newly filled. The new sales chief, Mike Niebling, comes from Bombardier, and the new production manager, Radoslaw Banach, previously worked for the Polish section of Alstom. Additionally, Martin Oravec has been appointed as the new chief financial officer, who was previously responsible for the same position at the telecommunications operator Telenor Hungary.
