Seat Mii electric returns: Fully equipped

Seat is also restricting the variants of the Mii electric and only offering a top-equipped model (also due to the margin). The "Edition Power Charge" costs 24,650 euros gross (which is just under 20,715 euros net) or 15,080 euros after subsidies. Only the colors and the warranty extension can still be chosen individually. But at least it seems that Seat can deliver again, as the sister models VW e-Up and Škoda Citigo e iV remain non-configurable.

The technical data remains unchanged: meaning a 61-kW electric motor with a 32.3-kWh lithium-ion battery. The combined range is 251 kilometers according to WLTP, with up to 351 kilometers possible in pure city traffic. The more expensive charging technology is now standard. While one previously had to order the CCS charging socket for DC fast charging for 600 euros with the Mii electric, to which an additional 175 euros for a charging cable for the household socket could be added, both are now included as standard equipment.

This includes all the amenities of the previous Mii electric Plus trim line, which cost 21,775 euros gross (just under 18,300 euros net) before the order stop. Standard features include Climatronic, lane-keeping assistant, hill-start assist, 16-inch alloy wheels, and tinted windows. Additionally, there is a package for driver assistance, winter equipment, and EasyFlex.

What does that mean?

The Volkswagen Group was completely overwhelmed by the sudden increase in demand for its affordable electric small cars due to the increased subsidies in the summer, especially since Seat introduced a new basic version to the market that was available for around 10,000 euros with the subsidy – and was immediately sold out. In the end, the group had to impose order stops, and the Škoda Citigo e iV was discontinued. The VW e‑up is temporarily not available with individual configurations. In the configurator, one is (as of 1.2.2021) directed to the ID.3 and ID.4. Currently, all three brands are still processing a number of outstanding orders. Advantage for Seat: The margin is always higher on fully equipped models, as Seat earns a few euros extra on each additional feature. And since demand far exceeds supply, it's not a problem to "manage" demand a little. But at least Seat is delivering again.
