RVK receives 31 hydrogen fuel cell buses from Wrightbus

As one of the fastest-growing bus manufacturers in Europe, the Northern Irish company has had a remarkable year. In addition to more orders for fuel cell buses for Saarbahn, Vestische, Cottbus, and West Verkehr, and the opening of a new European service center in Brühl, Wrightbus is currently hiring staff for the delivery of buses to France and the Benelux countries.

In October, Wrightbus signed a contract worth up to half a billion pounds for the supply of more than 1,000 units to British transport company Go-Ahead over the next three years, 90% of which will be locally emission-free.

Wrightbus CEO Jean-Marc Gales praised the efforts of his production team and said that Germany is just the beginning of the company's endeavors.

"This was by far the most technically challenging task we had to tackle – after all, these were our first buses for continental Europe – and it was important that everything matched perfectly by the time of acceptance. In addition to delivering the buses, we are also pleased about the opening of our European service center in Brühl, which enables our expert team to maintain and service buses of all kinds in the heart of Europe, and we are hiring new staff on the continent to bring more buses into operation."

Gales also thanked his counterpart at RVK, Dr. Marcel Frank, and his team for their good cooperation.
