Rover is back: With bicycles

Even the logo is thought-provoking, because instead of the Viking ship, the inscription "Rover" adorns the bikes. One thing is clear - a traditional name is simply being used here, which, however, began in bicycle manufacturing! The Rover pedelecs are distributed by the Offenburg-based company Elektro Mobile Deutschland. The specialist in cooperative marketing also carries E-Bikes from Jeep. In Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Rover offers a model range that includes everything from trekking, city, and cruising bikes to folding bikes for commuters or campers, thus subtly targeting the business segment as well.

The Fold scores with crisp design and lightweight

Let's start with the Rover Fold E-Bike with 16-inch tires: It's a single-speed with full suspension and a 250-watt rear motor. Thanks to its magnesium frame, it weighs only 13.6 kilograms and can be folded for transport in the trunk, public transportation, to the office, or the campsite. The battery delivers ten ampere-hours, which should provide 50 kilometers of electric assistance.

The city model Rover Urban is designed as a single-speed with belt drive and middle bar and offers a 250-watt rear motor. The battery capacity here also provides up to 50 kilometers of electric assistance. The Rover Urban features 28-inch wheels that are somewhat wider for unpaved surfaces.

There is a wide range of trekking E-Bikes, available in four variants. You can choose between a low entry and 1.95-inch wide tires or the variant with a middle bar and 2.2-inch wide tires. The pedelec is available with rear-wheel drive as well as a more powerful Bafang mid-motor. The 13-ampere-hour battery here is supposed to provide up to 90 kilometers of range.

The Cruiser fits the brand best

The Rover Cruise E-Bike is available in two frame variants. Here, too, a 250-watt rear motor is employed. The electrical energy from the frame-integrated and removable battery is supposed to provide up to 60 kilometers of pedaling assistance. It rolls on 27.5-inch tires and comes with a seven-speed Shimano derailleur.
