Revolution: Lexus sports car to come with solid-state battery
More than 700 kilometers range thanks to a solid-state battery and 0-100 km/h in under two seconds: these are the specs of the new "sports model," as Lexus modestly describes its technology flagship. It is to be part of a whole range of battery-electric vehicles that Lexus will bring to market by 2030 under its Lexus Electrified Vision. The so-called "Lexus Driving Signature" is intended to offer a unique driving experience: driving comfort combined with steering, throttle, and braking behavior that are perfectly aligned with the driver's intentions.
With its striking proportions (long hood, short passenger cell) and the model-typical low vehicle height, the new sports car symbolizes the future of the Lexus brand while simultaneously reviving the spirit of the legendary Lexus LFA.
What does that mean?
Quite a subtle announcement for a very big story: with the new "sports car," which is more likely to be a "super sports car," Lexus could set new standards—provided they don't take too long to present the production model.
