Retail2Go: Mobile Mini-Supermarket Reduces Individual Traffic

With "Retail2go," the specialist provider Hummel Blockhaus from Ottobeuren (Unterallgäu) has developed a mobile shop concept that can be transported from A to B as a trailer solution. Depending on the industry, Hummel’s craftsmen adjust the trailer individually to the respective needs.

"Whether butcher, baker, vegetable stand, mini-supermarket or mobile village shop: In our 'Retail2go' trailer, you can really store everything," says Josef Hummel, owner of Hummel Blockhaus.

The spectrum ranges from the classic service counter to the autonomous self-in-shop system with automated access control. The customer only needs a place where the trailer can be parked.

"More and more companies in the food trade are having to close branches because of a lack of staff and the unsustainable costs of maintaining multiple shops. With our mobile solution, we counteract this, as it allows multiple locations to be served with less staff. This is a win-win situation for all involved," Hummel continued.

Municipalities could also better fulfill their public mandate for local supply with the trailer. Hummel cites as an example communities where suitable properties for a post office, bank, or grocery store are lacking. The solution he developed can be set up anywhere without problems and is immediately ready for use.
