Zinq has integrated the first fully electric trucks into its fleet with its two Renault Trucks E-Tech T 4x2 tractor units. The vehicles will be used at the Zinq locations in Landsberg near Halle and in Gelsenkirchen for factory traffic and offer a battery capacity of 540 kWh (6x90 kWh), it was said. This equipment ensures high efficiency and optimal range for daily use. Sven Biebler, Managing Director of Zinq Germany:

“The decarbonization of our logistics is a central aspect for us on the path to a more sustainable future. The collaboration with Renault Trucks has been very positive in this regard: their service and support in the introduction of our fully electric tractor units convinced us from the very beginning. We are pleased to take this further step towards low-carbon mobility with Renault Trucks as a partner.”

Sustainable Logistics
The aim with the circular business model Planet Zinq is the implementation of a consistently circular economy and is understood as a pioneer and guide for surface technology. An important field of action in this regard is the Low-Carbon-Zinq program, aimed at continuously reducing the carbon footprint both in the product and in the process within the company.

The electrification of the commercial vehicle fleet is another step for the company towards CO2-free mobility and logistics. The forklift fleet is already electrified, as are large parts of the cars in Germany. Dr. Bendiek, Managing Director of Zinq Technologie GmbH, the group's technology developer:

“As part of our circular business model Planet Zinq, we are continuously working on optimizing our production and logistics processes to save energy on one hand and to use only raw materials that can be returned to a cycle after use on the other. Since 2012, we have consistently relied on green electricity at all our locations. We follow this sustainability strategy also in the operation of the new hyperchargers on our factory premises, which ensure efficient and emission-free supply of our new e-trucks.”

The introduction of the Renault Trucks E-Tech T 4x2 Tractor Unit is part of a broader sustainability strategy in the context of Planet Zinq to reduce CO2 emissions and promote sustainable transport solutions, according to the company. By using fully electric vehicles, not only could the environmental record be improved, but the company could also benefit from reduced noise pollution and improved air quality.

Renault Trucks provided support with their 360-degree approach, it was further stated. This offers a comprehensive solution for sustainable transport and includes not only the provision of electric vehicles but also advice and assistance in integrating the vehicles into existing fleets.

This includes financing and insurance offers, training for drivers and technicians, and a service and maintenance plan. An example of this is the special training for drivers to ensure maximum vehicle efficiency. The goal is to support customers every step of the way towards more sustainable mobility and to ensure that the transition to electromobility is smooth and efficient. Frederic Ruesche, Managing Director of Renault Trucks:

“We are pleased with the partnership. Zinq is not only a climate protection company, but also considered a pioneer of circular transformation. This cooperation underscores the importance of joint efforts for sustainable solutions in the transport sector.”
