Rampini Hydron/Sixtron/Eltron: Three Electric Buses in One Go
With the Hydron, Rampini S.p.A. has introduced the first fuel cell bus fully manufactured in Italy. The 8-meter model is designed and built in Umbria. It has a high passenger capacity of 48 people for this vehicle length and a range of 450 km. The Rampini team has invested ten years of study and development work into the Hydron.
Several years ago, we made a precise and unusual decision for that time: to no longer build diesel buses. Back then, this decision raised some doubts in the industry. The product range we present today is the result of investments in research and innovation. Being sustainable is not only a competitive factor but also a way to exist in the market and look to the future with confidence. (CEO Fabio Magnoni)
Two new electric buses
On this occasion, the company also introduced two new fully electric bus models: the 6-meter-long Sixtron for use in small historical centers and the Eltron, an upgrade of the E80 model, the first electric bus built by Rampini.
The Sixtron can carry up to 31 passengers, is very maneuverable, and has a maximum range of about 250 km. A first example is already in use on the island of Procida, this year's European Capital of Culture.
Technical features of the Eltron include its narrow design, three doors, and a maximum range of more than 300 km.
The official presentation of the new hydrogen bus and the new e-bus offerings is planned for the Next Mobility Exhibition from October 12 to 14, 2022, in Milan.
