The e-mobility specialist Quantron AG is launching its own fully-electric city bus. The Cizaris will be presented worldwide in an online presentation. Bus operators, bus fans, and the public can follow the vehicle presentation live on February 16 at 10 a.m. (CET) at event.quantron.net.

Fuel Cell Version to Follow Later

The emission-free city bus is initially available as a BEV version at a price below the current level of comparable models. Quantron aims to offer a cost-efficient alternative to conventional diesel buses in this way. The FCEV variant of the 12-meter vehicle with fuel cells from Ballard Power Systems is already in development.

Lithium-Iron-Phosphate Batteries

The electric version meanwhile relies on lithium-iron-phosphate batteries (LiFePo4) from CATL. The charging power is up to 150 kW with a battery capacity of up to 422 kWh. The vehicle is therefore primarily designed as a depot charger. It has a range according to E-SORT 2 of up to 360 km with a charging time of three to five hours. Depending on the depth of discharge and thermal management system, a minimum range of 200 to 225 km at low temperatures should be realistic. Various equipment options will be available to meet individual customer requirements.
