The Norwegian specialist for charging solutions, Zaptec, presented its latest home charging station, Go 2, at the Power2Drive in Munich. The new charging solution, Zaptec Go 2, which is set to hit the market in the 4th quarter of 2024, is MID certified and offers several new features. The charging station comes with a comprehensive hardware upgrade that enables function updates for 1/3-phase switching and solar integration, in addition to native OCPP for charge point operators and integrated 4G LTE communication. Alongside new features, the hardware will also support AC Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) to enable bidirectional charging. By complying with the upcoming ISO 15118-20 and Edition 4 of IEC 61851-1, Zaptec Go 2 can communicate with the vehicle and turn the electric car into an energy storage device.

"Zaptec Go 2 combines smart home charging with advanced technology in the smallest of spaces. With the integrated display and MID certification, company car drivers can easily account for consumed energy, while automatic phase switching is perfectly suited for sustainable solar charging," advertises Daniel Gwercher, Managing Director of Zaptec Germany.

He also points to the simple and secure installation process and the improved design, which is expected to allow for higher charging power at even higher temperatures. The wallbox will be introduced gradually, starting with Germany, Switzerland, and the Benelux countries in the fourth quarter of 2024. Further details will be announced at a later date.
