The Munich tech startup Locio has announced the presentation of its first product at the Power2Drive in Munich. With the LinkOne, they are launching an intelligent charging cable that aims to significantly simplify charging for fleets and company cars. The system enables the recording of energy consumption from charging processes regardless of location and independent of the wallbox provider. Charging processes at home can thus be easily and legally accounted for through the employer. Charging data is transmitted via Bluetooth to the company's own app. This way, the manufacturer-independent charging cable can be used at any charging station, even without a backend. The consumption measurement relies on a MID-compliant meter and serves various corporate interfaces. Furthermore, it removes dependence on the home network or mobile network.

20 companies are already using the system

They believe that the consistent transition to electromobility by companies can only succeed if drivers are enabled to charge at all locations. This must be possible without complications and without additional installation effort. As early as 2021, the young company had applied for a patent for LinkOne and has since worked on making the product ready for series production. In the first market entry phase, they have already convinced over 20 companies such as Trumpf SE + Co. KG and the HARTING Technology Group, according to the provider. Series production of the second product generation is planned for August 2023.

"Our intelligent charging cable LinkOne has already proven itself in large fleets and is equally appreciated by companies and vehicle users," explains Alexander Schmidt, CEO of LOCIO.

They aim to enable companies to transition to electromobility easily and cost-effectively. The partner company reev also helps with this. Both companies are targeting new billing solutions and want to set new technical standards.

"Only in this way can we further advance electromobility and maximize the benefits for companies and vehicle users. Nevertheless, we also operate independently in the market," says Eduard Schlutius, CEO of reev and LOCIO.
