Porsche: Two New Macan Variants

The new Porsche Macan with rear-wheel drive now serves as the entry point into the fully electric SUV model range. Additionally, the new Macan 4S with up to 380 kW positions itself within the upper performance spectrum of the model lineup.

Porsche doubles its model range with its first fully-electric SUV: While the focus with the rear-wheel-drive Macan is primarily on high efficiency and range, the new Macan 4S fills the gap between the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo. Like the models introduced at the beginning of 2024, the 4S features the electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management (ePTM), which distributes drive power around five times faster between the front and rear axles than a conventional all-wheel drive system.

Macan: 100-kWh Battery and Highly Efficient Power Electronics

The new entry-level Macan model in Porsche's fully electric SUV world also draws its energy from a high-voltage battery with a gross energy content of 100 kWh. Propulsion is provided exclusively by the rear axle motor known from the Macan 4, with a diameter of 210 mm, an active length of 200 mm, and a power output of 250 kW. The electric machine features a 480-A pulse inverter (PWR) utilizing the highly efficient semiconductor material silicon carbide (SiC) to increase efficiency. This significantly reduces switching losses in the PWR and enables higher switching frequencies.

In combination with Launch Control, the Macan reaches up to 265 kW of overboost power, with maximum torque at 563 Nm. It accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, with a top speed of 220 km/h. By foregoing all-wheel drive, the Macan is 110 kg lighter than the Macan 4 and consumes less power. This results in a combined WLTP range of up to 641 km.

Macan 4S: Powerful Electric Machines and PASM as Standard

The Macan 4S receives a new rear axle motor and a powerful 600-A SiC pulse inverter. The diameter of the electric motor is 230 mm and the active length is 150 mm. This results in a system output of 330 kW, which can be temporarily increased to up to 380 kW in overboost, together with the front axle motor known from the Macan 4 and Turbo. The maximum torque when using Launch Control is 820 Nm. The driving performance is correspondingly impressive: the Macan 4S completes the standard sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds with Launch Control, and the top speed is 240 km/h. The combined WLTP range is up to 606 km. The Macan 4S comes standard with the electronic damper control Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). The adaptive air suspension with level control and height adjustment, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), and rear axle steering can further optimize the chassis towards sportiness and comfort on request.

Charging power of up to 270 kW

The two new models bring all the qualities of the second generation Macan, such as the progressive, timeless design with range-optimized aerodynamics (cw = 0.25). The 800-V architecture of the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) enables a DC charging power of up to 270 kW. The charge level of the HV battery can be increased from ten to 80 percent at a suitable fast-charging station within around 21 minutes.

New Color, New Wheels, New Offroad Design Package

A new exterior color, Slate Grey Neo, is now available for all Macan models. The Macan S wheel in 20" size expands the wheel portfolio. In addition, a new offroad design package is optionally available for all models. This makes the Macan even more suitable for everyday use: rough dirt roads, as well as particularly steep ascents or descents, can be mastered more confidently. A front apron with modified geometry increases the approach angle depending on the suspension up to 17.4° (air suspension in special terrain level). In conjunction with the adaptive air suspension, the offroad design package also increases ground clearance in normal conditions by 10 mm to 195 mm.

Two Color Variants

Porsche offers the package in two color variants: Vesuvio Gray and exterior color. The front apron, side skirts, diffuser panel, and roof rails are then painted accordingly. Matching offroad design wheels in 21" size painted in Vesuvio Gray are also offered. In the offroad design package version painted in exterior color, the sideblades are also executed in the respective color tone. The roof rails can be optionally ordered in black, silver, or Turbonite (only Turbo).

For Macan, Macan 4, and Macan 4S, the offroad front apron with Vesuvio Gray inlay is also available separately. The approach angle increases analogous to the offroad design package.

Porsche Driver Experience with New Design and New Functionality

With the electrification of the Macan, Porsche has introduced an entirely new display and control system in its SUV model. The Porsche Driver Experience offers a mix of digital and analog elements. These include a 12.6" curved display instrument cluster, a 10.9" passenger display, a head-up display with augmented reality technology, and ambient lighting with communication light. Porsche has profoundly revised the design of the Driver Experience for all Macan models. It now includes an emotional welcome display, a more modern appearance, and the new "Themes App," which allows the background color of the displays and ambient lighting to be adjusted to the exterior color in twelve colors.

Available for Order Immediately

The two new Macan models are available for order immediately and will be delivered to customers in the second half of the year. Prices including VAT and country-specific equipment start in Germany at 80,700 euros for the Macan and 90,700 euros for the Macan 4S.
