polisMobility: Bike-sharing conference discusses potential as "game changer in the transportation transformation"

As part of this year's polisMOBILITY (May 22-23), the Bike Sharing Europe Conference will take place on May 22 in Cologne. In discussions and interactive formats at the third edition of the event, civil society, experts, scientists, business and municipal representatives will have the opportunity to engage in open exchange to initiate concrete projects and shared visions, according to the organizers. The main question of the conference is the extent to which cargo bikes can enhance existing bike-sharing systems. Additionally, there will be discussions on whether bike-sharing should be part of public services.

"The use of (cargo) bike-sharing has such a positive impact on the environment, society, and urban infrastructure like hardly any other measure in the transport sector. Therefore, we are very pleased to be able to make a small contribution to the discourse through this conference," explains Ernst Raupach, CEO of Green Moves, a sponsor of the conference.

Another sponsor of the conference is the Dutch cargo bike-sharing pioneer Cargoroo. Its CEO, Jaron Borenstaijn, sees "cargo bike-sharing as a game-changer for the mobility transition." On the afternoon of Thursday, May 23, a panel on the topic: "Enhancing Cycling in Urban and Rural Areas: How Can We Get More Bikes for More People onto our Streets?" will be held at 2:30 PM on the openStage of polisMOBILITY.
