PlugSurfing collaborates with Freshmile

The Freshmile charging points are also accessible to PlugSurfing users. The real-time status of the Freshmile charging points will soon be available via the PlugSurfing app. Access and payment are initially only possible with the RFID charging chip from PlugSurfing. However, this will be possible via the app later this year. The new cooperation will make cross-border electromobility easier again. The PlugSurfing network will then encompass over 70,000 charging points in 31 countries. Freshmile is the first charging station operator to establish the international Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) standard at the national level, thus enabling reliable, affordable, and scalable access to charging. OCPI is a widely supported industry standard for interoperability. PlugSurfing is also a promoter of OCPI to ensure that electric car drivers have the easiest access to any charging station.

The partnership also opens up new opportunities for partners of both companies in France and Germany. Thus, charging station operators will primarily notice a significant increase in the usage numbers of their charging infrastructure, allowing them to increase their revenues. Energy providers, shopping centers, companies, fleet and parking lot operators benefit from the fact that significantly more users can find and use the charging stations more easily. In addition, they benefit from a comprehensive billing system and can thus offer even more service to the electric car driver.

In addition, Land Rover has brought the app as a white-label solution (Land Rover Charging App - powered by PlugSurfing) to the app store, Jaguar is expected to follow in the first week of July - parallel to the market launch of the I-Pace. Numerous leasing providers are also interested in PlugSurfing.

What does this mean?

Through cooperation, the number of charging stations for users increases massively – and they come one step closer to the idea – one device or one payment method for all charging stations.
